The New Castle has been completley refurbised to provide a venue that gives an intimate and warm feel.  Owners Nikki and Ian have taken (they think) all the best bits from years of research from coffee shops/tea rooms/wine bars and amalgamated them into one joyous bundle.

During the day The New Castle is primarily a coffee lounge selling (of course) coffee, teas, cold drinks, a wide selection of beautiful cakes and pastries. The coffee is sourced from Carwardines of Bristol who have been roasting coffee for over a century. Las Delicias, a Rainforest Alliance certified arabica bean blend from Latin and Central America is our chosen brand, giving a strong but smooth cup of coffee with a hint of acidity.

A lunchtime menu is available every day. This provides a large range of standard food like paninis,jacket potato,filled baguettes etc. As well as this there is at least one homemede soup every day and a selection of hot daily specials which vary from day to day. The New Castle cream tea, served on vintage china, is a treat for young and old alike. The venue is licensed to sell alcohol from 10am daily and the wines have been chosen to give what we consider to be a great range at reasonable prices. Many are available by the glass.
